Beaches
Valencia’s warm weather make of its beaches a preference spot for the people throughout the whole year, they are widely visited during the night as well.
Valencia is blessed by the legendary presence of the Mediterranean Sea, the city counts with several resorts. Its waters are in fact the ideal site for leisure and relaxation.
The Valencian coastline is twenty five kilometres and services are all over the place as to reach a perfect combination with other choices such as sea sports but if you are fond of nature you may go to the Albufera Natural Park through its paths or sail on board traditional crafts.
Valencia and its beaches also count with a modern port, if you decide to go towards the port’s northern side, then you will be able to appreciate the most popular marine resorts: the Malvarrosa and the Cabanyal. There is no need to travel further since these resorts are located very close to the city. If you decide to go to the south, then the Albufera Natural Park is expecting you with its splendorous resorts: Pinedo and the most beautiful beaches of L`Arbre del Gos, El Saler, La Garrofera, Devesa and the Recati-Perellonet.
Saler is a district of the Valencia City, the beach is in the midst of the Albufera Natural Park and it is at eight kilometres from Valencia and Saler is really a typical town of the region. Two are the delimiting areas for Saler: La Creu and The Gola de Puchol.
The Malvarrosa beach was a favourite site for two outstanding personalities of the Spanish society: Sorolla and Blasco Ibáñez. The place takes the name from an aromatic plant with rose mallow colours, this plant was found all over the region. In fact Malvarrosa beach is the most urban spot from all resorts located next to the city, its golden and fine sand attracts many visitors therefore it is easy to interact with friends here. The whole marine stroll is full of cafeterias and restaurants but fishing is also an option from a variety of sports. The Malvarrosa beach is the most famous one from all the Valencian resorts, it was given the blue flag and disable people may visit a special area ready for them.
Malvarrosa limits to the north with Acequia de Vera and to the south with Cabañal neighbourhood through the Naranjos Avenue where there is a railroad.
Going towards the south, you will be able to find the Cabanyal beach, also an urban resort suited with golden and fine sand, physical exercises and cultural activities are encouraged here for the little ones and for the eldest as well. Cabanyal used to be a neighbourhood of huts built with shaped mud and thatched roof.
A brief travel takes you to The Albufera National Park that is the shelter for endemic plants and animals, the place owns sole dune formations and the southern beaches of Valencia are located around the reserve.
Pueblo Pinedo is right at the south of Valencia and it has been the place for farm workers and fishermen, it is a beach with fine and golden sand and its scenario is gifted with a dune area and vegetation which leads you to the Valencian huerta, widely known since early times.
Pinedo is a municipal district of Valencia. It is located at the south of the new mouth of the Turia River. It is surrounded with vegetable gardens, rice plantations and the sea since it is located inside the Albufera Natural Park. Pinedo’s local economy has always been based on agriculture and fishing and during more recent times it has turned into a centre for second residences for the inhabitants of the city.
L`Arbre del Gos a beach located between Pinedo and El Saler, it was built upon a primitive landscape known as the black house, the dune system was all cleaned up and regenerated, a marine stroll was created for the pleasure of tourists. It is next to the first dunes of the Albufera Natural Park. All services are included, even a bike road for people eager to enjoy a nice bath and a relaxing trek next to the sea.
Going even more towards the south, there is El Saler beach also with a dune system and a marine stroll. The resort is protected from the west winds; dunes with great ecological values and a huge extension of pine trees surround the wild and natural spot that fits the beach with the enchantment of cleanness and quietness.
The Garrofera beach includes the Sidi Hotel zone and the Casbah. The Garrofera is inside the Albufera National Park and it is one and a half kilometres long. A perfect place for the interaction with nature, its excellent location between El Saler beach at the north side and Devesa to the south, makes of this whole scenario a natural and privileged enclave just a few kilometres away from the city of Valencia.
The Devesa beach is right in the midst of Puchol and Perellonet, Devesa is the sole beach with a wild landscape in the whole municipality. It counts with five kilometres of coastline; its extraordinary and rich ecosystem makes of this resort an attractive place to visit. Devesa is a blue flag beach, with a clean coastline, fine white sand, dunes and pure blue waters.
The Perelllonet- Recati beaches are the most southern resorts of Valencia’s city, calm waters escorted by a residential area characterize the whole place and behind the facilities you may enjoy from a huge rice cultivated plantation.
El Cabañal- Arenas beach is just a fine and gold sand city resort fitted with all kinds of services including sport areas and games for children. A place frequently visited at night from April to October.
El Recati is one of the beaches located throughout Valencia’s coastline where you can enjoy beaches with fine and golden sand and low depth, warm and protected waters with soft currents are all over the shoreline which is mostly Valencia’s gulf inner side. El Recati has 3.740 metros length and 55 meters width.
The Recati beach: at the south of the Albufera channel , it is a quiet beach with fine sand delimited by a small urban area after which a huge rice plantation is found, it is not a widely visited spot therefore relaxation and interaction with nature is possible during the day.
The urban beaches are mostly gifted with natural landscapes. El Recati is not an exception it is certainly a calm beach with fine sand, delimited by residential area known as Perellonet. EL Recati is a long and narrow sand beach located in a residential area that is why most of its visitors are in fact residents living in the nearby complexes.
