Valencia is a capital city located at the eastern side of Spain, it is also a province and autonomous community; the Mediterranean Sea bathes its coastlines in front of the Gulf of Valencia. It limits with Teruel and Castile provinces to the north, with the Mediterranean Sea to the east, with Alicante to the south and with the provinces of Cuenca and Albacete to the west.

The city is more than 30 kilometres from north to south and from east to west it has more or less seven kilometres. Its altitude is 13 meters right at the very core of the alluvial plain called The Huerta crossed by the Turia River and its eight irrigation ditches, all meant for the irrigation of agriculture since early stages: towards the left we find the irrigation channels: Moncada, Mestalla, Tormos and Rascaña and towards the right: Quart, Mislata, Favara and Na Rovella. In fact, Valencia city is the most inhabited of the Valencian Community and third of Spain.

The provinces limiting with Valencia are: Alicante, Albacete, Cuenca, Teruel, Castellón, and the Mediterranean Sea. Part of its territory, the Rincón de Ademuz, is an enclave located between the provinces of Cuenca and Teruel.
